In the Dominican Republic our partner, Miguel Santiago, is a kingdom entrepreneur who has a plan to reach his country for Christ. He's both a church planter and an enterprise starter. We will be based out of the beautiful mountain town of San Juan de la Maguana. 

While the warm air, beaches, and palm trees of the Dominican Republic have welcomed tourists to begin visiting again, the country's economy continues to reel from their lockdown. We have a unique opportunity to make a difference in this beautiful Caribbean country.

This semester takes place at the start of our gap year (9 months)! You will have the advantage of spending your semester building a foundation in the areas of spiritual development, computer programming, and entrepreneurship.

Interested in Global U?

For your last semester, you will live near the incredible city of Antigua, Guatemala! There you will partner with an Adventures in Missions international base.

Their base staff will teach and equip you with the Word of God and you will work alongside them to build relationships with the surrounding communities. You may find yourself playing soccer with neighborhood kids, doing outreach in local villages, or teaching English in a primary school. In your last semester, you will experience authentic and loving Latin American culture as you are also in the launching stage of your Passion Project!

Guatemala

Our faith begins with Jesus walking the dusty streets of Jerusalem 2,000 years ago. Today its streets team with noise of one of the world's most robust economies. What better place to ground our understanding of how God brings the kingdom to earth than Israel and the Holy Lands?

From your team's base in Israel and Jordan, you'll see with your own eyes the places where Jesus walked and his church began. You'll visit archaeological digs and learn how our faith has developed since Abraham first walked into the Holy Lands and Paul walked out. You'll bridge worlds by ministering to refugees in camps and visiting startups in downtown Tel Aviv. Our three months in the Holy Lands will ground your faith in the reality of actual places and events through the course of history.

Israel

So many reasons to love Spain. We begin with a two-week hike of the Camino de Santiago. This thousand year-old pilgrimage is a great introduction to the people and culture. Then we travel south to Costa del Sol and the picturesque village of Mijas overlooking the azure blue Mediterranean ocean.

Our base on the escarpment of a mountain affords us a beautiful view that stretches all the way to Morocco on the horizon. Students love waking up to long walks followed by study sessions in the surrounding gardens. Each week, we'll walk the cobblestone streets to a local fellowship in one of the whitewashed homes of local believers. Our partners in Mijas are the ministries of G42 and George, whose beach outreach 15 minutes away is a weekly feature of our life in Spain

Spain

From the ends of the earth to the new world. This route begins in Spain, home to a rich history of diverse cultures and religions. You may even walk the same paths that Jesus’ disciples walked to the “ends of the earth” in their time. Next, you will return to the Holy Land, where it all began, the birthplace of those diverse cultures and religions. You’ll finish the route by following the first explorers into the new world to Guatemala!

Route 1

For your first semester, you will live near the incredible city of Antigua, Guatemala! There you will partner with an Adventures in Missions Internation Base. Their base staff will teach and equip you with the Word of God and you will work alongside them to build relationships with the surrounding communities.

Greece is home to one of the world's great ancient civilizations. From our base near Athens you'll be able to visit the ruins of the Parthenon and Delphi to see how the Greek empire grew to prominence. You'll also visit Biblical sites like Corinth and Thessaloniki.

While Greece's sun-washed beauty and location on the Mediterranean makes it a tourist destination, it is a country that has struggled through the challenges of a financial crisis that has caused many of its citizens to look for employment elsewhere. In recent years, the Syrian refugee crisis has overwhelmed available resources. Our class will minister in refugee camps, reaching out to a populace that has been traumatized by terrorism.

Greece

Finally, for your last semester you will experience the beautiful and culturally rich country of Spain! Spain sits on the Western edge of the only post-Christian continent on the planet.

The birthplace of bullfights, the Inquisition, and tapas – this is a land of deep passion but lacks relationship within their faith. You will spend at least two weeks on El Camino de Santiago, where you will meet other pilgrims from around the world. And finally, wrap up the coursework and plan for the launch of your Passion Project among the white-washed buildings of the little village, Mijas!

Begin in Guatemala, where you will be inspired by the vibrant culture of Central America through a beautiful blend of faith, nature, and artistic passion. Next, you travel to Greece and begin building out your dreams like many of the minds who shaped western culture in government, philosophy, art, and the early church of Christ-followers. Finally, you will cross the Mediterranean for Spain, where you will experience centuries of history from inspired artists, explorers, and the church. This route follows the journey of some of the greatest pioneers in human history!

Route 2

Route 3 (24 - 30 years old)

We have a new option to commit for one semester at a time! Give it try, if you find your place with us you can enroll for another semester.

We are now offering a Global U option for entrepreneurs ages 24-35! You have the opportunity to join our January launch with the Global U Gap Year students and create a custom path forward utilizing as many aspects and resources of our program as you need to launch your project or business! This includes computer programming classes, entrepreneurship curriculum, Passion Project process, Growth Coaching, mentorship, community, church, and more! Being an entrepreneur can be lonely. As an Entrepreneur in Residence, you will be surrounded by a Christ-centered community and be a part of a network of highly successful business professionals journeying alongside you to build your kingdom business. The sky Heaven is the limit for you and your business!
